Introduction

Ágnes Völler is an editor and assistant with decades of experience. After graduating from high school, she began working at the Pannónia Animation Studio. She started out as a colorist and then as a keyframe animator, after which she worked as an assistant director to Béla Ternovszky (Cat City, Pumukli, and other films). Four years later, she was invited to join the team of János Czipauer and Magda Hap, working as an assistant editor under them. During this period, she completed the editing program at the College of Theater and Film Arts. In total, she spent 29 years at the Pannónia Animation Studio during the golden age of Hungarian animation. Among other things, she taught film analysis, dramaturgy, film editing, and image composition at the Pécs Art High School. In Budapest, she taught courses to students at the University of Fine Arts. After Pannónia closed, she worked for a year at the Kecskemét Animation Studio, where she performed pre-shoot checks as a cinematographer (from storyboarding to layout, shot list, frame size, etc.), and then handled the editing work for the unique, auteur films of the Béla Balázs Studio at Hungarian Television. At the Primanima Festival, she has long assisted, partly through volunteer work and partly as a colleague. In 2024, she was tasked with processing the estate of Sándor Reisenbüchler; she carried out its professional, meticulous restoration over more than half a year, which later became ready for exhibition in France. For many years, she has been a key staff member, assisting with BABtér’s wide-ranging activities, serving as a professional assistant for its animation workshop, and helping with festival preparations.
